Results of the First NuPNET Call:
Launch of Evaluation Procedure for 16 Proposals.
During the run of this first NuPNET Common Call for transnational joint activities, 16 proposals were submitted. Involving more than 300 researchers, these proposals totalise a funding request of € 8.76 million.
All submitted proposals have been checked to ascertain if they comply with:
the conditions of eligibility of the NuPNET Call and
the national eligibility criteria of the participating funding institutions.
After a thorough examination of each proposal and exchanges with
the 12 involved funding agencies, the NuPNET Common Call Secretariat came to the conclusion that all 16 proposals are to be considered eligible and should be evaluated.
As each proposal will be evaluated by two internationally renowned experts
(but whose names will remain anonymous), the NuPNET Common Call Secretariat has decided to determine -as a first step- together with the involved funding agencies a pool of experts for each of
the three topics of the call.
Thanks to this pool of 36 experts, the funding agencies then selected three experts for each of the 16 eligible proposals. Based on their feedback, the NuPNET Common Call Secretariat identified those experts with the highest rates and designated -in a second step- the two principal experts per proposal and a third expert in case one of the other two might have to decline NuPNET’s invitation to review a proposal.
These preselected evaluators have been contacted to state whether they have a conflict of interest, in which case another expert would have to be nominated, or not. This long process is now finalised and beginning of June 2011, all 16 proposals have been distributed accordingly.
The evaluation period will last till 30 June 2011.
Results will be known in July 2011.
This site will be updated regularly so to keep you informed of the latest developments.
Please stay in tune.
